It is hard to say that one format is better than the other. Neither have significant advantages over the other. 6.	What is the difference between inkjet and thermal printable disk? There're two types of CD/DVD printers, inkjet and thermal, which print graphics on disk directly. Inkjet printable disk is compatible only for inkjet CD/DVD printers; thermal printable disk is only compatible for thermal CD/DVD printer. [Back to Top]
7.	What is hub-printable disk? Hub printable disks allow you to print the image all the way into the end of the inner hub, it provides larger space for image. [Back to Top]
8.	What is stacking ring? It is always in conjunction with Hub Printable disk. It refers to the small ridge around the inner plastic center ring on the disk. Its purpose is to keep the disks slightly separated when stacked on a spindle. Stacking ring is usually present on a standard disk. When a disk is to be hub printable, there is no stacking ring so that the printable surface can be applied all the way to the center hub. Also, for disks that are to be thermal printed, there is an advantage to not having a stacking ring. The stacking ring sticks up and interferes with the thermal printer head. A thermal printer cannot print any closer than 1/4" or so from the stacking ring. When there is no stacking ring there is no restriction on the thermal printing area. [Back to Top]
9.	How do I tell the difference if I purchase CD and DVD at the same time? Confusion happens when customer buy generic CD and DVD together. For branded disks, the disk package usually prints the product name clearly. Bottom color of the disk tells the difference.
